Introduced in 1860 by Admiral Fitzroy - provider of the world’s first weather forecasting
service and earlier Captain of H.M.S. Beagle (of C. Darwin fame). The instrument carries his instructions for interpreting the pressure changes, a C & F thermometer and a chemical weatherglass. Solid oak case with lacquered brass fittings. Medium oak finish.
