Cabinet
The break-arch case was first introduced about 1710 and
reflects the influence of Georgian architectural design.
The dials allowed the introduction of moon-phase detail
as illustrated and automata features. The ''Chatsworth''
is typical of the work of the London maker William Webster.
The walnut cabinet is decorated with book-matched burr veneers
and inlaid with satinwood banding. The case features reeded
quarter columns to the trunk and fluted ``Corninthian''
pillars to the hood. Bevelled glasses.
