The introduction of the pendulum in England in the 1650s heralded the great age of
clock making in Britain. It was to prove a technological lead that remained virtually
unchallenged throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Heritage Collection reflects the extraordinary ingenuity and craftsmanship of
some of the most eminent makers of their day. Included is a reproduction of the
Grasshopper Clock, a marine chronometer originally made by perhaps the most
famous of them all, John Harrison.
Customers who visit the company’s showroom have an opportunity to view some of
the finest workmanship of a bygone age. Each product is hand made and every detail
has been considered in order to reproduce craftsmanship of the past masters. The
cabinetwork reveals the fine proportions of the classic period designs. The intricate
detail of the marquetry, dials and hands have been faithfully recreated.
The finest quality movements incorporate the innovations of generations of
horologists. Features such as the automatic night silencer, automatic chime
correction and automatic beat setting mean that it is no longer necessary to call in a
specialist clockmaker to set up or move such timepieces.
The Heritage Collection reflects the company’s aspiration to create timepieces that as
an investment will retain their intrinsic value for future generations.
